Authentic Living

Authentic living is about finding out what matters to YOU and LIVING it! Every moment of every day!

It requires being aware of how the choices you make on a daily basis impact you on the deepest level and learning how to make choices that are RIGHT for you.

Life can get confusing and chaotic, exciting and intoxicating and unless we are super-focused on our core values it’s easy to get caught up in a whole lot of stuff that isn’t reflective of who we are or who we want to be.

To live authentically we have to break-free from all that holds us back from being who we truly are. This can require some investigation, especially if you have spent years turning the wrong corners, being led-astray or even just experimenting with all that life has to offer.

But at least now you know what you don’t want, right?

Knowing what you don’t want is just as (if not more) beneficial than knowing what you do want. Because, knowing what you don’t want allows you to let go of anything that is holding you back, leaving you free to go for what you do want, while discovering exciting new possibilities along the way.

It takes courage to stand up and be honest about what you want – especially when the people around you are striving for different things. Therefore, it is important to realise and accept that your dreams are your own and they don’t have to be ‘liked’ or ‘influenced’ by anyone else. Your authentic happiness is your own!

  1. I totally agree. I’ve been doing this kind of balancing act of being myself, and reluctantly meeting the expectations of others. Too much in either direction will get you fired, divorced, or worse, or feeling somewhat empty of substance and fulfilment. I’m pitching for the middle of the road on this one, but I gotta tell you, there are bumps and bruises.
